The Vast

Whoah...I checked out this website on a whim (not sure how many years it's been). Was cleaning up some old bookmarks. I'd love to check out the Vast again, even to just wander around for a bit.

Thanks for the update. I'm very saddened to hear about Taraxa. Both of you put a lot into the server ...

If you want to make an account on the forum, for now you will have to join the server and message me ...

Ye olde server of The Vast is now online 24/7.

The old module of The Vast is online again. For now it is on every day, but not the entire day, just afternoons to midnight or so Eastern US time. I have to sort out a good location to put the server, as the modem and router are in an inconvenient spot to park a large tower PC.

I got the server/module up and running on its old HP desktop that we were using as a server during its later years. I found a whole large region north of the Mhyrrwood Glades that I forgot I had built sometime after converting over to using HAKs. It's kind of funny to be wandering around and ...

Just a reminder too, the server winds up showing offline on the website's counter even though it should still be accessible through direct connect. I think it happens when the net blinks out for even a few seconds.

We do show online here still, as the server reports its status directly to this site ...

The server program was still running, but for whatever reason, must not have been visible to anyone via internet (it's always visible here because of LAN). If you can't seem to direct connect, go ahead and post on the forum, and we'll restart it.

I took the banner out of the footer.

Ok, could I install linux side-by-side with winXP and switch into that or set it to boot on startup?

We use nwnx to start the server and run the cd key database through sqlite. The persistent chests are on the bioware internal database, and all other databased stuff is on the stones of history in ...

The internet has been blinking off frequently for the last few weeks now, and when it does, the services that show the server player count and online status lose it. If it's listed offline in the banner at the bottom of the forum, you can try to direct connect anyway. I think you should still be ...
