A question regarding the usefulness of Disarm?

A question regarding the usefulness of Disarm?
I was curious about how useful the feat disarm would be in the Vast? Are creatures disarmable on the server? Now, I believe as a matter of record that when 'NPC' and Creature's are disarmed the weapon just goes into their inventory, yes? Which is what I understood it to be.

This does not concern me as the question isn't geared about getting the weapon itself, but for instance building a fighter or rogue character that works with lots of finesse moves? Using a rapier or a whip for instance to disarm an opponent, or working as part of a group to set up an opponent to be disarmed, thus putting them at a disadvantage to the rest of the group you happen to be with?

Just curious as to how useful disarm would be on the server in terms of concept?

Thanks for your time! [smiles, waves]
Our creatures are set to be disarmable.

Unless it has been changed by BW, the weapon should drop on the ground after a successful disarm attempt.

Re: A question regarding the usefulness of Disarm?
Corvus doesn't have the Disarm feat himself, but his raven, Silvestris, does. I can give you a fairly accurate idea of how it works.

The disarmer makes an attack roll at a -6 penalty (this is a serious penalty for many people in the Vast, who for the most part have low attack bonuses). If this attack roll beats the opponent's AC, a Disarm is possible; otherwise, the attack misses entirely. If the attack hits, the opponent makes a Discipline check which opposes the same attack roll, and if the Discipline check succeeds, the opponent takes normal damage and keeps their weapon; if it fails, their weapon flies out of heir hand and falls on the ground several feet away.

This is the same for NPCs and PCs. For NPCs, they've just lost at least one of their weapons permanently; PCs or possessed NPCs can pick up their weapon again, but they lose their quickslot for it, so it's a bear to try and pick it up and pull it out again while being pounded.

To sum it all up, Disarm can screw — um, screw up your opponent if it hits. However, considering the penalty applied, it's unlikely you will unless you also manage to take Improved Disarm.

The creature will remain hostile and fight with whatever weapon it has left, which may just be its fists, claws, teeth, whatever.

yes yes, but maybe as part of some DM event, they could possibly surrender when they had been disarmed...
Just to overstate the obvious...

A scripted surrender in such a case might also be a possibility.
Good idea!
Some fine clothes, a good long bath and a close shave and he'll look no different than every other halfling in Dragon Dale.
