A discussion in the Wayfarer

With a slight frown on her features, Elrith glanced around at those gathered around the table within the Wayfarer. Nodding to Karn, who had asked that she recount the details of what she knew, she again began to recount the conversations she had had of recent.<br>

She cast her green-eyed gaze to the note, written in goblin and in a neat script. Discovered in the warrens, it had revealed a disturbing turn of events on the matter of the drow. She frowns for a moment before beginning.<br>
<br>
"The note orders the goblins to carry out an attack on DragonDale when ordered to, using their 'combined forces'. It threatens them, saying that if they do not do so, their clan will be completely destroyed.<br>
I have spoken with Isendur, along with Corvus and Amenien, and he confirms that the letter was indeed written by one of the dark ones. This is proved by both the manner of writing and by the symbol of Vhaeraun at the bottom." <br>
<br>
She scowls a little when she mentions the name of the drow deity, indicating the two black circles in the shape of a mask before continuing.<br>
<br>
"Captain Sheera has been informed of the threat, and she is sending word to the Guard at the Landing. But the guard alone will not be enough, not even with the town watch included, for what now faces this town."

Many faces register shock at this news.<br>

Karn stands and looks around the table. "I've spoken with Card, and he will study the note and take it to Roanna. Hopefully, she'll tell us something helpful."<br>
<br>
Karn turns to Corvus and mentions, "Corvus will speak with Morleas the mage in the Landing and see what he knows."<br>

Corvus tears his concerned gaze from the woman at his side and shrugs, his mind clearly dwelling far away from the drow for the moment. "I have already said that I believe the entirety of Morleas' knowledge has been brought to light already. However, he did study under Roanna for a long while, so he may have more luck than Card at harvesting her knowledge of this."

Corvus looks away uncomfortably from the others at the table and his eyes fasten onto the small, tattered book in front of him, bound in fading green leather. Nothing is written on the opened page, but a sketchy copy of the symbol on the letter is drawn, two night-black discs surrounded by a series of curving lines. Corvus idly runs a finger over the path of the lines, tracing the shape of a thin mask. "I only worry that Roanna may not take kindly to more than one person asking her the same question," he adds quietly, not knowing or truly caring if anyone is listening to him anymore, or even if they were earlier, "but Card is by far the best among us at wringing anything out of the woman. I have no objection to his having a go at it."

Card looks down at goblin note, studying the design carefully. He wonders how Roanna will receive another interruption to her precious research.<br>

Karn walks into Ralbon's store with Glaisne. Both are badly wounded. Dried blood on armor and gear. Corvus and Averas enter Ralbon's and find out that Karn and Glaisne were attacked by numbers of bandits and two bandit witches. Two of the bandits and one witch were on the old south bridge. Isyndyl, the Elf, comes in and reports that a Lizardfolks sorceress has been attacking folks on the road.<br>
<br>
Looking at the worry on the others' faces, Karn decides that they might try speaking with Roanna. He convinces Averas that he can try speaking to Roanna. Several other folk come along. Once they arrive there, they find that Ashby the gnome had beaten them there. Roanna is nowhere to be found. Karn frowns at Ashby wondering what he had done. After waiting several minutes, the house starts to shudder, and groans and other sounds seem to come from underneath roanna's home. A large monster appears from out of the basement and the Averas, Karn and Isyndyl leave the house. However, Ashby had remained behind. Isyndyl goes back in to see to Ashby, as the others won't risk their lives for Ashby. Isyndyl comes out to report that Ashby is in danger. Karn and Averas re-enter the house and find a large air elemental pushing them out of the house. Once they leave they find Ashby outside and claiming to have done nothing tp cause the elemental to appear.<br>
<br>
While waiting near the house to see if there is something they can do, in case Roanna is in danger, a blast of magic knocks them all off their feet, except for karn, who barely manages to remain standing. Realizing that Roanna has definitely invited them to leave, they go to the Wayfarer before going their separate ways. Karn thinks that Corvus will have the best chance of finding out more about the note from Morleas.<br>
