Brokenmaw

Brokenmaw is near 6ft tall, with wiry black hair, brown eyes and dark grizzled complexion. He is soft spoken preferrring short and simple sentences. He seldom smiles, when he does it is a more a baring of his crooked teeth and on the even rarer occasions when he does laugh it sounds much more like a growl.

He appears calm except when on the hunt . . .where he is prone to be so consumed by the frenzy of the hunt he makes poorer decisions that get him into trouble.

Brokenmaw was born in a small farming village near the Hullack
Forest in Cormyr that suffered unrelenting attacks from wolves and his earliest memories are that of his family preparing offerings to appease Malar. Later in his adolescent years the village called on a order of druids to alleviate the wolf attacks,so taken by the manner in which these men and women were able to calm the wolves he decided to become a druid.

Brokenmaw's real name is unknown, he received the name Brokenmaw after taking his druidic oaths. His final test was to soothe an ancient dire bear- which was really the archdruid transformed. The bear despite his best efforts attacked and he struck at it with his club and broke the bears jaw and was given the name Brokenmaw by a his peers.

After taking completing his druidic obligations near the Hullack,
Brokenmaw took to wandering and ended up in The Vast. He is uncomfortable inside buildings and the walls of the Dale and even more so inside the walls of Vesper preferring to slip in and
out quietly when he has to conduct business. He will on occasion try to rally the Dale folk into a High Hunt a tribute to Malar that involves a night of hunting, feasting and celebration . . . Brokenmaw has developed his own version of the High Hunt . .instead of hunting animals Brokenmaw encourages the hunting of goblins and orcs and others he deems as interlopers in the glades and forests.

Brokenmaw's outlook on life is simple and falls in line with his patron Malar - There are the hunters and the prey - the hunters live and the prey die. He prefers the company of like minded individuals and hunting animals. He can often be found wandering with a giant cat Ravenous in the swamps, forests and glades near the Dale or at the Ranger Camp or druid's grove.
