Re: I see now...*winks*...nice vexillum
Hello, everyone, my name's Eddie, and I'm computer illiterate. I searched all throughout my Neverwinter Night's program files, attempting to find a portrait folder, but I could not locate anything. Could someone tell me where I should look?
Thank you,
Eddie
Thank you,

Re: Portraits to Download?
Just find your NWN directory. Do a search for "nwn.exe" if you have to. In that directory, the directory in which nwn.exe is located, you should also see such other files as nwnplayer.ini, nwmain.exe, nwtoolset.exe, etc. and folders such as data, modules, movies, music, localvault, servervault, etc.
Once you have found the directory, there may or may not already be a "portraits" folder. If there is, you can just place the custom portraits inside. If there isn't, simply create one. You can do this by right-clicking and selecting "New" and then "Folder", then name the folder "portraits" (without the quotes) You can also do this from the file menu instead of right-clicking. Once you've made the folder, just put the five .tga files directly inside for each portrait.
Hope that helps. I know too much about computers and when you say you're computer illiterate, I'm never sure if I'm not giving detailed enough instructions without dumbing it down too much. So if I dumbed it down too much, forgive me. If you need more help, just ask.

Re: Portraits to Download?
One more question; do they remain in their zip folders, or are they dropped in the portraits file individually?

Re: Portraits to Download?
You must unzip them and place the 5 .tga files directly into the portraits folder (there are 5 files per portrait, they are the various sizes used in game).
Windows XP actually has built-in support for zip compression.
Or you can use programs like Winzip or Winrar, just google them and find their sites, they have evaluation versions you can try out.

Re: Portraits to Download?
Thanks! Now I have to locate everyone, just to see each portrait, and tell if everything worked.
Re: Portraits to Download?
A bit of a late update, but there. I got it working! I just tried it again, and it worked. It was probably some NWN quirk.
So: if your selfmade portraits turn up white in NWN, just close NWN and try again. Worked for me.
Thanks to Troop for testing them!

Re: let me know
the link didn't work *grumbles*So here is my custom portrait, and the name of my character may change but the pic will remain the same
armel.nazaire
Let me know if it works please,'cause it's still 1kb bigger than everyone elses pic.
Mind you I have a set of Sehnae and the xxxxxxH.tga is 519k,compared to mine 386k,and the rest are 385k.
Is the difference in the resolution maybe?

Re: Portraits to Download?
Isendyl's portrait has been updated.
Drach did it herself, fairly nice.

Re: Portraits to Download?
thanks trooper, I appreciate you hosting it again :)
for those who are technical unsavy like me.
If you already have the Isen custom portrait. Just download the new one and have it replace the old files and you will be able to see Isen's new portrait just fine.
(it took me a while to figure that one out myself :D

Re: Portraits to Download?
Juli is now using a new portrait as well.
It is available in the same place.
I couldn't get the Zip version to upload, but the RAR went up fine. Just google WinRAR and you should find it. Rar's are so much smaller then zips anyway....

Re: Portraits to Download?
If anybody's having trouble with the RAR format of Juli's pic, I uploaded the 5 TGA's separately:
www.smurfyone.com/nwn/portraits/juli/
That link/address will take you to a directory listing of that folder, just save the 5 separate files into your portrait directory using "Save Target As..." (IE users right click the link and save target as)
Thought it bugs me the way I can't seem to upload certain zips while other zips/stuff goes up no prob >_<

I like Jules's newest portrait. Who is responsible for it?

Re: Portraits to Download?
Erm, I asked her and she said she had pretty much just hoarded a bunch of portrait paks from various servers/sites and picked that one and renamed it.... so you'd have to ask her.
