Final Straw!
I wish to say goodbye to everyone who I RPed with and had a nice time with, goodbye, Corvus, Innvid, Rish, Towlyn, Losin, and the rest you know who you are.... The reason I quit this world is, whoever is DMing usually AG but cant prove it, finds it amusing to kill characters... Dispite many hours of good Rping, conforming to the rules of the server, and redoing characters per this worlds style. I lost Evanna 6 days ago, due to AG wanting to scare or whatever to Natham, but personally, I think he wanted to kill him and instead got me..... I stayed on for over 3 hrs in the dead area, to find out what had happened, and I got a poor excuse for what a DM did, and then got irritated when I got concerned of my characters needs and items.... then later that same evening, I lost Cunedda due to invisiable creatures and a place in the swamp that wont let you leave.... Since I didnt have anyone to back my story, it was tough luck, it happens... I dont play to cheat, but to have fun....I accepted that this isnt a perfect world, and painfully accepted that both characters were dead, and all items lost......spent 5 days hunting to cool off, as I do care about what I create, and spend hours of my real life creating something to give to a world, that Ithought was real by the book and for Rping......so I got over it......came back, spent 2 days rebuilding Baron Cunedda Back up....then once again, noticed that creatures were coming out in mass again, barely made it to vesper....then upgraded to a better weapon and escorted Jenara *who is a wonderful Rper* back to our little town.... We were jumped, in full daylight a hugh ARMY of bandits, slingers and spellcasters. This wasnt for 1 area but 3 areas, that we attempt to fight, then plain RAN an RAN and RAN, but after taking magic missle, after magic missle from one aread to the next with healing spells gone and bandits continuing from all sides and even rats OMG the rats come from no where..... I died....but Jenara lived..... The reason I know it was a DM is because, when a DM assumes creatures, its says SOMEONE attacks you, no title of the creature.....so I knew it was the DM again, doing it..for what.....to kill me, I heard for a long time AG go off on killing characters for no darn good reason...well, I blew them off, to my mistake.....and died again... when other wents to retreive my body, not a bandit was in site, even in the dark...... so this is it.... I find this to be unhonorable and just poor bad gaming...... All I asked was, if you didnt want me to play, just say so, instead of killing off the others also, as I tested my theory about the creatures, but you didnt have the honor to reply...... so now you wont have me to get your power kicks off of.....
Re: Final Straw!
First of, I hope this thread will not be deleted, that would in my mind be evidence enough for your statements.

Sencondly, I'm sad to hear that you'll be leaving because of this, and personally I think you should be mailing AG (or whomever, you see fit) to talk with him about it. I have had some great joys, RPing with especially Evanna, but the Baron has recently spawned a complete new intrigue between Corvus and Innu... and so on, shortly speaking, your characters have had huge impact on Innu and thanks for that.

Thirdly, there could be other reasons that the bandits were there, I've heard alot about the rangers (corvus in particular) wanting to go and have a look at the bandits, and if you somehow stumbled into this event, then that could explain the massive amounts of bandit, but generally, the bandits have intensified lately.
I would say, that I do hope that you are wrong in your statements, since it would be most dissatifactory to the players if the DMs goes on killing raids... They do have certain advantages

Lastly, it would be good to hear from Jenara, and AG on this one... to shed some lights in the darkness...

Re: Final Straw!
That does sound a little harsh, I'm sure there's some reason for it though. Perhaps it's part of the ongoing storyline and you were just in the wrong place at the wrong time?
It also does this when you can't see your attacker, if they're at extreme range for example. Was it doing this even when your attackers were in plain sight?

I have no proof, either, but after talking with my sister, I suspect DM over-involvement got Keli Mers killed as well.
This statement is incorrect. Most times when "someone" is attacking you, it's because they're out of your perception range or visual range. If a DM possessessessess a creature and attacks you (provided it's within your perceptive range) it WILL show the name.
Do you use a camera hack or are your visual settings still the Bioware default of 30m?
This is correct, anytime you are attacked by "someone" you cannot perceive for whatever reason (edge of visual range, in stealth, invisible, etc.), it will read as "someone". A DM possessing a creature does not in itself make it read "someone", it WILL read the creature's name if it is close enough to you for you to perceive.
Just as an informational side note: If you use the hack, you can see farther, but your character still should not be able to perceive farther. If the hack is now actually allowing longer range perception, then it will have to be made illegal to use. Thurg, do you have the info on this? Let's post this in a separate thread, please. Thanks.

This is the honest mean Apollo side jumping out. I don't know much about you Baron Cunedda, but I have heard you have made some good plots inhere. I belive it is because you know when AG is on, and then can role play. When I on, and without AG, I have only seen you walk out alone and fight all the time.

I have not killed you (oh, one time, I spawned some lizardmen on you, but I did not leave you side, before you were sitting in DD, wounded, but safe), but I'm for sure not surprised that you lost a lot of characters. Man, I only saw you fight, and alone all the time. I would at anytime have said, he will die in a young age.

Sorry, just don't fair, to put the fault of your death character over to the DMs, when you use 90% of the time, I have seen you, solo fighting.
Edited: Just reading the Evanna post again, and just getting more irrate. Not have you, to get our powerkicks on off? Who do you think you are? Telling me, that I get a kick out of being a DM? I'm no more then a servent for all of you. I'm the one that have the less powers in here. I need to try to make everybody have fun and enjoy. I need to help everyone out, that have somekind of trouble, with the game mechanisme or whatever they come up with.
Do you really believe we are DMs, because we then gain somekind of powers? Hahaha, you really have no idea. This have been the toughest hobby I ever had. The hobby with the most moodswings. One day you are happy, because the players are happy for what you done. Next day, you are irrate, because you did something the players didn't think was great, and the third day, you are just plain mad, because some player, blame you for being a power hunger person, that gets the adrenalin running, when he can kill some poor person. Today is the third day.

P.S. I do not know how long this post will stay on this board, because it tells the truth..bah...Don't light up the fire under old nice and grumpy Apollo. Then you need more then all the water in Ogre Bath to turn it off.

Re: Final Straw!
When soloing the old cliche' comes to mind. Live by the sword....die by the sword.

I think this server would be alot more empty if the DM's were out to kill players and leave them for dead, yet the world seems to be pretty full most of the time. I am new, and I have been rewarded well for my RP (for the few times I can play), and they have helped me when in need. When the DM's are logged in they are not just around and playing, but are watching us, putting us in events, enforcing THEIR laws, etc... In a weird way, players getting so attached to characters that die means that the DM's are providing an awesome world for us. Bravo!

Re: Final Straw!
I'm going to weigh in here with some of my own observations.

First, I've never seen a DM go out and assassinate a character. If they want to deal with someone who is ruining the game world for others, they have other options. Also, Glaisne and I ran into two bandit witches and almost a dozen bandits near the Old South Bridge on the road to RVL. The thing is we fought them a group at a time, facing three or four each time. We fought a series of small battles instead of bulling through one group to face another in succession. We also used ranged weapons as much as possible.

Second, I've seen them go the other way to bring a character back who had fallen. Ask Zagreus.

Third, my character Karn has fallen twice so far, and he's my third character that I've played on the Vast. I consider his deaths to be defining moments in his existence. Each time he died defending others. The first was against a brown bear. The second time he jumped between two dire wolves (at second level) to give a 1st level hin a chance to escape. Frankly, the loss of levels (Karn dropped back to second and first level on those occasions) are nothing compared to how well Karn developed as a character from these experiences.

Also, on those occasions I had friends able to resurrect me, even though I didn't have enough gold to pay for it myself. Frost Farstrider and Adun Gretz were the main characters behind each of my resurrections, and I am deeply grateful they considered me valuable enough to do this.

On Thursday and Friday I carried two fallen youngsters back to the cemetery in town. Both of whom had gone where the Goblins overpowered them. Both were alone. The time I found the first body I was alone, myself. I was also traveling in 'search mode' and looking all around for Goblins. I accept the risks I take going out alone. If Karn fell and couldn't be resurrected, I'd be sad but accepting of his fate.
