Hey Everybody, I stumbled across this in the "ALFA" Forum, And have taken the liberty of quoting the Author. Think of it as some Moral support for PCPAF : )
Evil? Evil abounds in ALFA. Every where you turn in Faerun you can find examples of the most hideous evil imaginable being perpetrated by player-characters:

- Grave-robbing treasure seekers defile the resting places of the dead to steal their loot - it is little wonder the dead often rise in defense of their tombs;

- bands of ethnic cleansers roam the wilds committing genocide on any unfortunate enough not to belong to one of the 'good' races - entire tribes of orcs have been 'cleansed' in Daggerdale for no other reason than those doing the cleansing enjoy wetting their blades, killing for sport;

- intolerant zealots drive the religious persecution of those who worship other gods and put them to the sword - a brave man who killed in self-defense was beheaded by the lord of Daggerdale for no other reason than he worshipped the wrong god;

- small-minded, short-sighted hunters drive the great wonders of Faerun's magical animal kingdom toward extinction - how long before manticores, chimeras, basilisks and dragons are just childrens' fairy tales?;

- and everywhere you look, small bands of murderous thieves plot to invade the homes of strangers, kill them, and steal their belongings for no other reason than greed - for example, look to the jackals of the Ironstar dwarves who launched raid after murderous raid upon their cousin Duergar slaying them in their own homes and beds because the Ironstar were too lazy to build their own home and forge - they would rather kill their cousins then steal their cousins' homes and works.

Hope is not lost however. While evil runs amok on the surface of Faerun, there is good here as well;

- in the large human cities small bands of brave rebels gather in defiance of their overlords. Living under the shadow of the executioner's blade, these stealthy bands take what they can from the oppressing powers and give life to the resistance - they are known by many names - in Waterdeep they are the Shadow Thieves and in Westgate, they are the Nightmasks.

- in the wilds, the family values of the orcs, goblins, kobolds and other humanoid tribes cannot be broken by the murderous raids of the humans, elves and dwarves. No matter how many are murdered, the humanoids come together as one and raise their children faster and faster giving truth to the words "it takes a village." Their spirit of endurance is a symbol of hope to us all.

- in the desert and adjacent lands, a band of fearless renegade humans defies the intolerant religious fanatics and the greedy feudal overlords - calling themselves the Zhentarim, they pursue the freedom to trade and the freedom to worship who they choose despite persecution from all angles.

- finally, far beneath the hellish surface of this wicked planet lie great cities of those elves who long ago recognized the hypocrisy of the Seldarine. Eschewing the typical elven way of life with its adherence to racial supremacy, use of humans as tools, and millenia long history of genocide against the perceived lesser races, the enlightened drow now seek to organize all those opposed to the evil of the elf-controlled human kingdoms and cities. Here lies our real hope. Here, the forces of good can come together and plan for the rebellion which will throw off the yoke of Elvish tyranny once and for all. Some day, all the brave forces of good, from the stealthy city rebels, to the stout humanoid folk of the forests, shall rise up and throw down their oppressors. The human and dwarven puppets of the surface elves will be cast out by their own people and then all good folk can raise their swords as one against the elves who have lorded over them for so long. In the end, with the aid of the drow, the good folk of Faerun will make the elves wish they had just kept retreating! Power to Lol....to the People!

So, yes, there is a place for evil PCs in ALFA's Faerun, but, not forever - good will triumph in the end......
A Drow speaks of -who is Evil ?

Re: who is Evil ?
What I take from this post is that evil characters don't necessarily see themselves as evil; just with ideals different from their peers, and if that's the message here, I totally agree.

Karn, the 'ethnic cleanser of Goblins?' That has a certain kind of ring to it.
