Now discussing... character conflicts...

Post by Ecclessia »

This is just an awesome thanks to all those who roleplay here, and do it well.

I can honestly say, after trying a few other servers, that the quality of the play here is top-notch.

From brooding dark heroes to playful halflings, this environment is rich and fun to be in.

Just a pat on the back from a relative newb.
Glad you feel the same way as I do.

To be truthful, I stumbled on this server by accident. I was just loowing for a PW with a low ping and a reasonable number of players. I went in, with no rping or D&D experience whatsoever, ran around a lot, got killed and murdered, wondered if anyone really plays this game, but finally got a hold of things and it's been a thrill ride ever since. Went to one or two others servers, and the environment just didn't do it.

This is definitely one of the superior servers: excellent DM's with a professional attitude, and players that strive to maintain excellent IC play.

Totally agree. [smiles] Can't say enough good things about this server, staff and players.

I too 'stumbled' onto it. I remember thinking: "Hm, the Vast. It's permadeath and FR based. I think I'll just give it a try and see how long I can keep a character alive. Very soon after, I was hooked. [grins]

I suppose the server just saw me coming, and chuckled 'evily' to itself.
I was hooked way back when "the hooded man" tried to charge my new character a toll. I think it was Apollo. I nearly peed my pants that night.. heh.

I never actually played on a server that had such great DM "intervention".

Besides that, RPing with folks like Eddie Sedative as Glaisne, Sbrant as Thurgrin, Rahjin as Trent Waynn, Sniven as Frost Farstrider, Card and Mendra, and many, many other fine RPers reeled me right in. These are some of the characters that my first character, Amir'syl Jaden, really looked up to upon his arrival.

The RP has gotten better here IMHO.

I was quite sick and tired of all the other servers. All the level 20 characters and diablo like game style had really soured me on the multi-play possibilities of this game. The RP of this server saved this game for me.

Well you did get Sul's butt handed to him by...

Post by PensivesWetness »

Millia when she blew up in his face for Sul's "cruel" comments about Ananiki's death. You actually have more to worry about now. Millia appalogised to you, not knowing yet just how insensire, apprently, your comments truely were. Ginnia on the other hand, having been told what happened from Millia's POV, is quick to form oppinions too, and be default has placed Sul on her poopy list, along with Nerferasha and Natham, though she has not met him yet. So don't expect any love from her at all...

Oh, don't worry... Sul~falaer won't cry. The barbarian woman had some nerve calling him puny; he is happy to see her put in her place.

Sul's concerns are mainly his 'face' and his wallet. An insult to his abilities is bad for business...

EDIT: this conversation shifted in a new direction, so I retitled it.

that was from the "what's great about your level" post in off-topic...

sounds like Ananiki and Sul share a bit of a chip on their shoulders... how ironic.
Just to do a few comments on this topic out of recent exprerience...

* It would be so nice, if people kind of agreed upon how to solve it, before going into a brawl... Now I have done a couple of brawls recently again, and several times the 'opponent' that has been the provoking part, does not know how to make out a brawl, and though I don't mind explaining how I do it... it kind of takes out the air of the situation if I have to do the explanation after I have made my first roll to smack the person, and it is, I guess, extremely confusing to those around who doesn't know that we are chatting in 'tells' and they kind of wait for the response... *shrugs*.

* And please, if you kind of draw up lines for a brawl, please take a little more heed to the situation around you, so you notice when people are actually trying to hit you...

*blinks* Pensive....

Could you explain how brawls go?

I witnessed the encounter you are speaking of, and yes it did seem take an enourmous amount of time for the punch to land
