Thanks.
Thanks to AG for creating this world and to onomat, Taraxa, and all the other DMs for guiding it. Thanks to the great players and people I met along the way.
If indeed the Vast does not return, then I am happy for the couple of years I got to play on it. I do (and will continue to) miss it.
AG and Taraxa - I hope you guys are doing well. I also hope the forums and the site remain up for some time.
I'm sure that I'll see all of you in game. Take care.

P.S. It'd be great if other people want to post thoughts, etc. But please do keep it positive.

Thank you, to all of the DM team, for taking the free time out of their own lives to create the world that sucked away so many hours of my life for the past few years.

I just spent the past few hours trolling the boards, rereading old stories mostly both my own as well as others, and I realized how profoundly I really do miss this place. Since the server went down for the last time I've been having lots of thoughts, both good and bad about how everything has transpired, but ultimately I've decided to focus solely on the positive.
I want to relish the many many fond memories I have of this place and its people. I want to thank AG and T for building us such an imaginative and expansive world of staggering beauty. I can say with honesty I have yet to find anything that matches it for breadth or depth. I want to thank the dm's I've known from Apollo (though admittedly only as a player) all the way through Psilax Merlette and Ono. You helped make this world what it is and helped give life to it and to its characters. lastly I want to thank the players. From those I've known since my first day to those I only met months before we lost our home, it was an honor and a pleasure to play with you, to be a part of this community.
I keep hope in my heart that one day it may even return. Until then I have many a fond memory to think back upon.

Thanks from a troublesome player. I know I wasn't everyone's favourite, but the Vast, AG, Taraxa, AW, Psilax, Merlette and Ono, created a *second life* for almost 3 years for me, and the influence continious, since all other servers will be compared to the Vast in my mind.
The Vast gave me hours of true joy and rolling off my chair with laughter, and hours of deep emotion and crying alot. The Vast took RP to a higher stage for me (I never thought a computergame could do that).
All of you, I hope you find other *worlds* that can satisfy your needs ( I hope that someday I will find one).
Thank you all for the great times we had.

p,s, I had hoped the creators wouldn't have forgotten about this first *child*, for that's what a server is, you know?

*sigh* If you read my, "Have Fun," thread Sarah you might have picked up that this is exactly the kind of post I didn't want to happen. And for a tip, a server is nothing like a child. Seriously. It is a hobby, and nothing more.p,s, I had hoped the creators wouldn't have forgotten about this first *child*, for that's what a server is, you know?
And for anyone else, please, no more not so subtle digs. Please do as archimedes 13 asked, and post positive comments only.
The integrity of your characters is not in their gear, loot, or level. Ever. Ever. Ever.
I've been lurking and enjoying the tales of adventures since I took a break from NWN. Before that I really enjoyed the opportunity that AG, Taraxa, Psilax and Onomat gave us to express our roleplaying skills. Karn and Faelar remain vividly with me to this day due to the wonderful environment that the DMs created for us to enjoy. I've played other characters in different roleplaying environments (online and pencil & paper), and frankly I enjoyed the Vast more. Dangers lurked around corners. Along with wonders. There was a lot of room in the Vast for creative playing styles, as long it didn't take away from someone else's enjoyment. This environment drew the very best in players, imho. There are too many fine players to name with whom and from whom I had the enjoyment of interacting and learning.
I miss playing here a lot, but time moved on for me. I'm back in college trying to get a teaching certificate for elementary school. Based on this experience I've gained an understanding of what AG, Taraxa and the DMs go through. There will always be that immature student in class who just can't excel in the normal classroom, so they act up for attention. I saw the DMs dealing with these 'students' without getting paid for it, aand even putting their money into a server and a fast connection. Frankly, I was glad to see that they continued on as long as they did. It spoke well for their love of D&D and roleplaying.
Lastly, I'd like to wish you all success in your future endeavors. And be sure to drink an ale for Karn now and then and to save a tale for Faelar and his wax tablet to record your tales of battle against the 'vermin.'

Was a helluva server
I think it says alot about the server that two months after it's apparent dissolution so many folks have come back to the forums again and again to wonder about it and talk about it. The Vast has been a memorable and for the most part enjoyable experience. It's attention to detail and sense of community made it the first server I ever thought was truly worth coming back to time and again.
Thanks to the builders who made the place the DMs who made it work, and the players who made it a community. I wasn't there as long as many of you but it left a strong impression on me nonetheless. I hope to see many of you again online; on the Vast (if that's in the cards, or on other servers or other games.
If ya see me playing somewhere, do drop a tell and say Hi. I'll try to do the same. You'd be surprised where an obnoxious little semi-literate vile-tempered halfling with delusions of mercantile greatness might show up... ..Really.
I, as it seems, this is the curtain call for the Vast, I just want to nod to those who made it what t was: The players, AG, folks who got along well, folks who didn't (the server was very engaging and at times emotions ran high and folks over-reacted to silly things; I know I did), and all the folks you saw regularly or irregularly when you logged in. Been fun.
Alas real life has to take precedence. Lets be grateful for the fun we had and patient on the forums. If news of the servers final fate or welcome revival does get posted great, but if not all the speculating and any disapointment expressed should be made with the acknowledgement that it was great while it lasted.

I popped back here to see how everyone has been doing over the years, and it seems like I just missed the last hurrah. Even though I have not played here for years, I am sad to see that the Vast is actually gone. Arch, Atra, Cafall, Drach - it's been great role-playing with you. PM me and let me know if you're going elsewhere.

Wow.
I played here for about a year before I was drawn away by other servers, and then, well, life, varied as it is. Despite that I played on other servers, I always considered the Vast to have the highest quality of RP of any server on NWN. Try as I might, I have trouble remembering any single negative thing about the Vast.
Goatte, Cafall, Dracharla, Clockwerkd, Kepaxii, Glaisne, Thryllkill, AG thanks for all the fun while I was here.

Oh wow. Been ages since I've checked here. Hey everyone, may or may not remember me.
Always did like you guys, just got drawn away by nwn2. Also was a time where I just was not into roleplaying for months....
Anyway, I am glad to see everyone still together and such. It was a fun ride, even if I was only on it occassionally.

heh....been a while since I've been here, too. a lot has happened since the last time you guys heard from me. I'm not active duty military any more, though I'm still in the Army (just National Guard-side now). Jargh and I are still playing NWN (heh, he's -still- working on that mod he started a few years back), and our son is 4 years old now.
as for myself......I'm a DM on Amia, now. I love the server and the community there, but it doesn't hold a candle to what we had here in the Vast. from time to time I see a few of you in GS chat, and always love hearing from any of you.
some of my fondest memories from here include (but are not limited to) sitting around the well just chatting it up with other players; Ani exploring a bit too far west and almost being killed by the wolves near the ranger camp (but barely surviving.....and living to tell of her sighting of the White Stag); Meri and her incessant humming of lively tunes while out scouting the "greenies"; Corvus, Mitch, Pansy and Ani wandering up to Algorah and ending up dodging lightning while retreating back to the south......gods, there are so -many- things I look back fondly on, but that last memory really takes the cake. it scared the crap out of both me and Jargh, I know that much! XD
I, for one, dearly miss the server, the DMs here.....but most especially the players who helped make the Vast an experience I will never forget.
if any of you want to get in contact with me, send me a message (or e-mail) at dragonfire_dreams@hotmail.com
as an aside.....AG, Taraxa.....my husband has said that if you want to find someone to host the server for you, he'd be willing to do it. again, just send me an e-mail and I'll let him know.
